Riding high from a recently released critically successful EP, a career spanning documentary on the way, playing shows in front of packed houses and a recent headline spot on Music City Roots, yeah I’d say right now is a great time to be Drivin’ ‘n’ Cryin’ (DNC). This Saturday night the quartet of talent laden musicians will be returning to the homeland as they pull into Metro Atlanta for a night of rock-n-roll at the 120 Tavern & Music Hall inMarietta.

Over the last several months the band has rekindled its

youth and their live shows are examples of how good they really are. Kevn Kinney’s grizzly road seasoned voice commands attention as he belts out tunes like“Honeysuckle Blue” & “Fly Me Courageous”and he can still tone it down on “Peacemaker”and “Let’s Go Dancing”Tim Nielsen’sthunderous bass and Dave V.

Johnson’s rapid drumming deliver the powerful rhythms needed on crowd favorites “Powerhouse” and “Build A Fire” and Sadler Vaden’s blistering guitars are just plain sick on new tunes like “Dirty” while reinvigorating classics like “Scarred But Smarter”.

Their live shows are and always have been a collection of ear busting rock and mellow southern folk tunes equally disbursed to keep fans of both fully invested, look for more of that this Saturday night in Marietta. You can expect DNC to pull tunes from their vast collection of albums, show off their new EP, mix in a few covers and possibly some new material from their upcoming EP due in September. With this much music to choose from everyone there should be singing along and jamming their air guitar all night long. If you are looking for a night of ass kicking tunes then 120 Tavern & Music Hall is the place you need to be. Come check out DNC, if you have not seen them live or it has been several years then you are truly missing out.
