Real Rock Month: Drivin N Cryin
Real Rock Month isn’t just about new bands, we also wanna shower some love on lifers who’re keeping the faith. To wit, Drivin’ n’ Cryin’, the long-lived Southern rockers lead by good captain Kevn Kinney, part of the under-appreciated pantheon that includes Peter Case, Dave Alvin and other major singer-songwriters to rise to prominence in the 80s and never drop off in terms of quality since. While quiet for a few years, Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ seems to be kicking up some dust of late, releasing a swell live album in June, and announcing that work has begun on a here) and the Impound is gonna try and get him on the horn to talk music soon. Dennis had a blast talking to him a few years back, and figures we’re overdue for a check-in. For now, kick over a bar stool and get down with this pair of amp rattlers.
